Christmas

Well, Christmas once again has come and gone soooo quickly. Alex was just saying the other day how there is so much build up and preperation and then it's over just like that! So true.
I cannot believe how fast the year has gone by. It seems like only yesterday that we had Christmas '07 and I was just pregnant, not even showing, and now we have a 5 month old!
Christmas was fun. On Christmas Eve we went to Church, Alex's Cousin's house and then to his Aunt and Uncles. We were out late but Gavin made sure he didn't miss anything. Poor little guy was so tired, but he kept those eyes open! He was such a good boy, didn't fuss once the whole night. We got home at midnight and we all crashed. Everyone slept in till 8:30 Christmas morning! So Santa had to deliver presents then instead of Christmas Eve night ;o)
Gavin got lots of toys but of course his favorite thing was the wrapping paper! Even though he is still too little to know what is going on, Mommy made sure the making of the Flores Family traditions were set in place, doing the whole Santa thing and stocking thing. So much fun. I can't wait till next year!
We were able to talk to Grandma Ottery Christmas Eve on the webcam and the Grandma and Grandpa Schurr on Christmas morning. We wish we could be with them all during the holidays, but at least we can see them!
Hope everyone's Christmas was great and have a Happy New Year!

Phew!

What a crazy few weeks we have had since being back from our trip to Iowa. When we returned, that Monday night, Gavin got a bad cold. It was his first ailment and we felt so bad for him. We went out right away and got some drops for his nose and a humidifier. Well, a week later, it still wasn't getting any better, so Mom took him to the doctor. Sure enough, Gavin had an ear infection! So he was put on amoxacilin for 10 days, you know, the yummy bubble gum stuff! So, this past Wednesday was his last dose and then yesterday morning, he woke up with hives! So off to the doctor again! Good news, his infection was all cleared up and the doctor couldn't tell us why he was getting these hives. We have been giving him benedryl then yesterday and today, hopefully they clear up soon!
Although gAvin has been a little sick, he never let it get him down. Just in the past week he has changed so much! He really has discovered his voice and it comes from down deep in his gut, it is so cute. One morning, he layed in his bed for half and hour and talked to him self while Alex and I listened. He is also sitting upright much better. Those little abs of his are getting stronger and stronger each day.
Last but not lease, we recieved wonderful news that Alex got an offer from the company that he was really interested in. We have been axiously awaiting news for the past week. Happy Friday and Merry Christmas to us!
I am posting a few more pics of Gavins life during his fourth month. He is now five months, can you believe it?!

We're back...

We made it to and from Iowa! We were back for a full week and it went by so fast. The flight was great to Iowa, Gavin was perfect. We left out of Williamsfield airport, which is in Gilbert, and flew directly to Cedar Rapids. The airports are small, people were friendly, flight is short, and it is cheap! Who can go wrong with that?! We got to meet some new people in Iowa, including Mu, Dad and Lynn's foreign exchange student. Mu loved Gavin from the moment he saw him and loved to play with him. Mu even got Gavin some little Nike's! We also got to meet cousin Sadie. She is such a cutie and I am sure Gavin and her will have lots of fun together when they get older. Gavin really bonded with his Aunt Lanna. He finally meet his Aunt and Uncles, so now he knows the whole family on both sides! We were sad to go. We had so much fun and on the last day we were there, it snowed, so Gavin got to experience that. It was lots of fun being able to bundle him up all week, we don't get to do that much here in AZ! I always say he was meant to be a cold weather baby ;o)

Thanksgiving

Weel, only one week until we jet off to Iowa. I am so excited to show Gavin where I am from and to also FINALLY meet my Aunt and Uncles. I have a feeling that the week will go by very quickly and that I am not going to want to return to Arizona!
Gavin is growing so much. He just had his 4 month Birthday on friday, which we cannot believe. He is so active. He is a lot better on his tummy and can roll from tummy to back. We are working on back to tummy and we almost have it. He has really taken notice to Maxi and thinks he is the funniest thing. I'm sure they will be best buddies once Gavin gets a little older.
Cannot wait to see everyone in Iowa and we are ready for the cold!

First Post

Ok, so I have been trying to find something that is easy to follow our growing little boy Gavin and I think I have finally figured it out...for the most part :o)~ I will write more soon, just wanted to test this thing out!
